Sixt
This National Park located in Sixt is an area of outstanding beauty,
and is particularly interesting to walkers and those for an appreciation
of the great outdoors. One of the better known walks is the Fer á
Cheval, which translates as horse shoe. This walk gives an un-parallel
view of the park and the many waterfalls that drape the side of the
mountains, a truly spectacular sight.
Sixt again has many activities including via feratta, pot holeing, climbing.
Amongst the villages
of Samoëns, Morillon, Verchaix and Sixt, you will find many places
of interest and natural beauty all waiting to be discovered. The people
are warm and welcoming, restaurants generally serve the local traditional
foods such as fondues, raclette and tartiflette along with usual French
foods such as steak, salads and French fries. Children are welcome everywhere
and in general you will find a 'menu enfant' allowing you to relax and
chose you own meal knowing that they will have something child orientated
to suit them.
All in all Samoëns is 'a place to fall in love with', we hope you
will enjoy your stay with us at House on the Hill.
