Samoëns is at the centre of the Grand Massif skiing region and within easy reach of the beautiful cities of Geneva, Annecy, and Thonon, the chalet is well located for enjoying the best of the Haute Savoie region all year round. Italy and Switzerland are both in easy reach, less than 1 hour's drive.

Skiing/Snowboarding

Samoëns is situated right in the middle of the Grand Massif, which includes the resorts of Morillon, Flaine, Sixt Fer à Cheval and Les Carroz there is ready access to over 265 km of pistes, between 700 and 2500 m, covering one of the most spectacular skiing areas in the Alps.

The winter season generally extends from mid December to mid April and there is a generous choice of slopes with 53 blue runs, 15 green runs, 49 red runs and 12 black runs. The ski area competes with any of the better known places, whether for beginners or experts. The fabulous "Grand Massif Express" high-capacity 8-seater Gondola takes you from the centre of Samoëns to Samoëns 1600.

General

Samoëns is a traditional Savoyard market town and has been awarded the coveted Coq d'Or, placing it among the top five most beautiful French villages. It is the only village classified by the "Caisse Nationale des Monuments Historiques". The guided visits are an excellent way to discover the history and traditional Alpine atmosphere of the town and its surrounding hamlets which is a great alternative to other more livelier spots.
